Workshop with WCO experts: Improving the risk management system
On May 12-14, 2025, a seminar is being held on improving the risk management system in customs control. The event brought together representatives of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as customs service specialists. The seminar was held with the support of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana and the World Customs Organization (WCO).
The purpose of the event is to increase the effectiveness of the risk management system in customs administration by analyzing existing practices, identifying problem areas and developing proposals for their improvement, taking into account modern analytical methods, international experience and current challenges in the field of foreign economic activity.
The welcoming remarks were made by:
– Botagoz Abilova – Head of the Training-Methodical Center SRC MF RK
– Nuraddin Murshudlu - Head of the Economic and Environmental Department of the OSCE Program Office in Kazakhstan
Accredited WCO experts were invited as experts: Alpsten Anders, Mohan Kumar, Shreya Hong.
The seminar is examining examples of the use of artificial intelligence, passenger risk analysis, categorization of trade participants in risk management, as well as other relevant risk management issues including international mail flows, internal threats.
Special attention is paid to the latest developments of the World Customs Organization in the field of risk management.
The seminar is held in an active manner and discussions.
This event is a platform for discussing current trends in risk management, sharing experiences and implementing best practices.
