International webinar
on the topic: «Authorized economic operators»

 

In the period from June 29 to July 2, 2020, under the auspices of the World Customs Organization (WCO), as well as with the support of the USAID Project, an international sub-regional webinar for Central Asian countries was held on the topic: «Authorized Economic Operators» (AEO).

Employees of the Customs services of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as employees of the territorial divisions of the State revenue bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took part as listeners.

The lecturers were highly qualified WCO experts. At the same time, the following speakers made welcoming remarks:

Aliya Jetibayeva - Director of the Methodology Department of SRC of MF of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Jeff Wright - USAID Project manager for competitiveness, trade and job creation in Central Asia.

Hong Nguyen - Technical officer of the WCO compliance and facilitation Office.

The purpose of the webinar was to assist the state revenue authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan in implementing a comprehensive strategy for the implementation of the World Trade Organization Agreement on Trade Facilitation in terms of improving the AEO institute, by conducting an online diagnostic mission, that is, the relevant departments of the SRC of MF of the Republic of Kazakhstan were interviewed in the question/answer format. Based on the results of the work carried out, WCO experts provided recommendations for the development and improvement of this institute in the Republic of Kazakhstan.  The event was innovative and was held for the first time on the basis of the TMC.

The webinar was held in Russian and English, using the online platform "ZOOM".
