National webinar on «Post-customs Audit. Due diligence»

In the period from April 26 to 30, 2021, the Regional Training Center including the Regional Tax Center of  the Training Methodological Center State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of  Finance Republic of  Kazakhstan  (TMC SRC MF RK) with the support of the World Customs Organization (WCO) held a National webinar on «Post-customs Audit. Due diligence» with the participation of representatives of the customs and tax departments of the  SRC MF RK, as well as regional divisions of the SRC MF RK. The total number of listeners was 82 people.

The webinar began with welcoming speeches by Mr. Shingo Tanagami - Technical Attache of the WCO Secretariat, Mr. Nurbulat Abdulov - Head of the Customs Control Department after the release of Goods Audit Department SRC MF RK and Mr. Eser Chengel - Director of the Regional Office for Capacity Building for the WCO European Region.

The webinar was conducted using the ZOOM in English with the involvement of simultaneous interpreters who translated into Russian.

The purpose of the webinar was to familiarize the audience with the concept of Post-customs Audit of the WCO (PCA), the compliance system, the policy and management of the PCA, as well as materials on the principle of "due diligence" during tax audits.

During the webinar, questions on the WCO PCA concept, international experience in the field of PCA on the example of Germany, Zambia and international experience in targeting (determining tax audit objects) on the example of Germany, Zambia and Japan were considered.

The webinar was very useful for the participants, because it included customs and tax areas, experts exchanged experience and practice in the application of  PCA, the presented international experience can be used to improve the knowledge and skills used in the working activities of the listeners.

In addition, RTC employees are currently negotiating with an OECD expert on holding several webinars by the end of this year. Thus, after the completion of organizational issues, information about the upcoming webinars will be sent additionally.
