The work on labeling tobacco products will be simplified for retail sellers. The draft rules are publicly available for public discussion.

On September 16 this year, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a regular meeting on labeling and traceability of goods in the Republic of Kazakhstan, during which issues were considered, including a pilot project on labeling and traceability of alcoholic beverages.

As a result, it was decided to simplify the business processes of working with labeled tobacco products for retail sellers. In this connection, at present, a draft order has been developed to amend the Rules for Labeling and Traceability of Tobacco Products, approved by Order No. 927 of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated September 29, 2020 in terms of simplifying business processes for retail sellers in terms of working with labeled tobacco products.

The draft order can be found on the Internet portal "Open LSI" at: https://legalacts.egov.kz/npa/view?id=11862422

It was also decided to complete the current pilot project on digital labeling and traceability of alcoholic beverages and maintain the current mechanism of labeling with monitoring marks.  At the same time, control will be carried out through tax and civil control.
