The ongoing inspection at the Kazakh-Chinese border does not interfere with legal movement of goods across the customs border.

This was reported by the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan

In line with instructions of the President, a designated working group consisting of representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Financial Monitoring Agency and the Ministry of Finance is currently conducting an inspection at the Kazakh-Chinese border.

Inspection covers only importers with the status of authorized economic operators.

Based on audit results, measures provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be taken.

The inspection does not interfere with the legal movement of goods across the customs border, and a bona fide business carries out foreign economic activity without restrictions.

At year-end 2021, there are 7241 importers conducting import operations with the People's Republic of China, of which 17 are AEO, which account for 18% of the total volume of imports. Moreover, 5 AEOs are from manufacturing sector that import products for their own needs and 2 AEOs are of the quasi-public sector ('Kazpost' JSC and a subsidiary of 'KTZh' JSC - 'KTZ Express' JSC).

'KTZ Express' is also a customs representative and an international freight forwarder, having its own infrastructure at Kazakh-Chinese border. 'KTZ Express' operates the largest dry port in Central Asia, KTZE-Khorgos Gateway and owns Class A KIF Warehouses. The main advantage of the operator is a transparent activity both for customers and for fiscal authorities.

In general, entry points at Kazakh-Chinese border and other places of customs clearance are operating routinely.
