Risk Management Workshop supported by the International Nonproliferation Export Control Program (INECP), National Nuclear Security Administration of the U.S. Department of Energy
From March 27 to March 29, 2024, a three-day workshop on risk management with the support of the International Nonproliferation Export Control Program (INECP) of the National Nuclear Safety Administration of the U.S. Department of Energy is being held at the Training-Methodical Center of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The workshop began with a welcome speech by the Head of the Program (INECP), U.S. Department of Energy – Samra Wolde-Tensae.
The purpose of the workshop is to present the methodology for analyzing trade activity data used by American experts on export control and establishing cooperation on the application of this methodology in the development of risk profiles for dual-use goods for Kazakhstan in relation to trade operations under new HS codes included in the checklist of specific goods.
During the workshop, the participants are presented with reports on the description and discussion of specific approaches and methodologies for data analysis used by American specialists in providing assistance in law enforcement activities in the United States. Practical exercises will also be held on the development of specific risk profiles for cargoes under the new HS codes.
The seminar is attended by employees of the Central Office of the SRC MF RK and territorial subdivisions.
The lecturers are representatives of the U.S. Department of Energy, the Committee of Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Revenue Committee.
As a result of the seminar, a discussion will be held on the possibility of using this information by state authorities of Kazakhstan for effective implementation and optimization of the existing control policy.
