From 11 to 15 October this year The Educational and Methodological Center of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter -EMC) conducted a special course on: "Training in working with scanning equipment and analysis of image of X-ray devices", which was completed by officials of the State Revenue Department for Zhambyl region at the customs post "Taraz-CCC".

The purpose of the course was to teach how to work with scanning equipment, improve their skills in identifying dangerous and prohibited items using the Simfox simulator program, as well as to familiarize with Rapiscan, Rapiscan DV, Smith-Heimann and Heimann-container X-ray television installations.

The participants got acquainted with the basic concepts of X-ray television installations, examined the basic concepts of radiation, types of radiation and radiation control. For practical purposes, an X-ray baggage and goods inspection unit was used, which provides a solution to the tasks of searching and detecting explosives and explosive devices, weapons and ammunition, to prevent attempts to illegally transport prohibited items and smuggle goods, vehicles and narcotic substances.

At the end of the course, students mastered practical skills of working with X-ray television installations in the classification of hand luggage and luggage, in order to identify prohibited and restricted items for transportation across the customs border.

 At the end of the course, 8 employees were awarded certificates. The course was held in compliance with all sanitary standards.
