On April 14, 2022, video-conference negotiations between Mr. Ye. Kozhabergenov, Head of the International Cooperation Department of State Revenue Committee under the Ministry of Finance of the RK and Mr. Xia Jun, Deputy Director of CD of China's General Administration of Customs took place at the initiative of the Kazakh side.

The meeting discussed the issues of promoting the 'CTOP' (Customs and Train Operators Partnership) project between the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan and China's General Administration of Customs.

Mr. Ye.Kozhabergenov informed that the Kazakh side attaches special importance to customs cooperation with China and drew attention to the implementation of the agreements that were reached on
November 12, 2021 following the results of the 11th meeting of the Subcommittee on Cooperation between entry points and in the field of customs of Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee.

Mrs. G. Aliaskharova, Deputy Head of  'Electronic Declaration Center', Electronic Declaration Department, State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan informed the delegates of the Chinese side about the results of work on comparison of data, and also proposed to make changes and additions to the draft Technical Specification.

Mr. Xia Jun expressed willingness to consider the proposals and comments of the Kazakh side, and also noted that the project will demonstrate its effectiveness and assist in automating the processes of moving goods by rail and increasing the turnover of Kazakhstan-China. 

Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that customs cooperation between the countries will continue to be built on a friendly basis, and the decisions taken will contribute to improving the effectiveness of comprehensive cooperation.
