 PRESS RELEASE

What will happen to old cash registers after they switch to online monitoring cash register?

To the end of 2019 Kazakh entrepreneurs are to switch to monitoring cash registers with function of fixing and (or) data transmission, in other words to online monitoring cash registers (MCR). The transition procedure defined by the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On taxes and other mandatory payments to the budget» and approved by the order of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 16.02.2018 No.206.

This means that all entrepreneurs in order to make transition will be whether to acquire cash registers with new function or to modify their old cash registers.

According to the data of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan on May 1, 2019 it has been registered 255 191 MCR without data transmission function.

A part of them, namely 181 566 or 71,1% can be modified by updating software for online monitoring cash registers. 31 515 or 12,4% of cash registers are software (hardware and software complex).

Cash registers that are used in places where there are no telecommunications cannot be replaced with an online MCR, their amount in the Republic is 12 000 or 4,7 % of the total.

32 110 MCR or 12.6% are subject to utilization or further use in places where there are no telecommunication networks.

Using online MCR is one of the tools for reducing the underground economy, improving tax administration, reducing tax audits, and automating state services for registering MCR.

At the same time, in order to encourage entrepreneurs to apply online monitoring cash register, in accordance with the Tax Code, benefits are provided in the form of tax reduction in the amount of 60,000 tenge.

These requirements also apply to MCR that have been modified for online MCR and registered in 2019.
