Importation of goods with excess radiation background into the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union was prevented

The employees of the “Maikapchagay” customs post of the State Revenue Department of the East Kazakhstan prevented the importation of goods with excess radiation background into the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.

On January 25, 2019, at the “Maikapchagay” customs post, when the goods “ceramic grinding balls” were being moved from the PRC, the “Yantar-1A” automatic radiation control system detected an excess of the background radiation level by 3.4 times.

In accordance with the customs legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union, seven vehicles carrying the above-mentioned cargo with a total weight of 158,875 kg immediately were returned to the territory of the PRC.

By virtue of the technical capacity of the post, it is not the first time that importing radiation-hazardous goods into our country is prohibited by the employees.
