Tax amnesty: 7.3 billion tenge of debts were repaid by 33,121 taxpayers across the republic

 

In the framework of the ongoing tax amnesty, the enterprise in Atyrau region, who paid to the budget 714.5 million tenge of the principal tax debt, had 89 million tenge penalty written off. And an individual entrepreneur from Atyrau region, who repaid 480 tenge tax arrears, had 10 thousand tenge penalty written off.

On the whole, on March 13, 2019, 33,121 taxpayers repaid the amount of arrears, which they had as of October 1, 2018, for a total of 7.3 billion tenge.

In respect of taxpayers, penalties amounting to 1.6 billion tenge and fines amounting to 208 million tenge are to be written off.

Until now, 8,283 taxpayers’ penalties in the amount of 587 million tenge have been written off, and three taxpayers’ fines in the amount of 219 thousand tenge have been written off.

As is known, from January 1, 2019 the Law providing for a tax amnesty for small and medium-sized businesses entered into force, as well as the Rules, from February 8, 2019, for writing off penalties and fines, provided that the debt amount is paid.   

We would like to remind that according to preliminary data, 90,077 entities of medium-sized and small businesses (31,210 legal entities and 58,867 individual entrepreneurs), which as of October 1, 2018 have tax debts in the amount of 340.6 billion tenge, are included in the amnesty.

Provided that, entities of medium and small business do not need to apply to state revenue authorities: writing-off penalties and fines will be carried out without a taxpayer’s application, except for those taxpayers who are provided tax deferral for paying taxes or are in the rehabilitation procedure.

In addition, currently, pursuant to the instructions of the Head of State for granting a tax amnesty for individuals by writing off the accrued interest, provided that the principal debt is paid, amendments to the legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan were developed by the state revenue authorities and agreed with the concerned state bodies and submitted to the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
